Fruit Smoothie Finish

I've not posted for a while - sorry all. The kids are on half term and it tends to keep me away from the computer. However, at the weekend I had another finish - Fruit Smoothie is all done and dusted.

All I have to do now is decide what to do with it!

DD has just started stitching a picture of a Golden Retriever for her Nana (Great Grandmother, 91) who has just had a knee replacement op. I think I may have chosed a design a bit too big for her at the moment but it will make a lovely picture if she ever finishes. In the meantime, I've just started a blackwork book mark for DD. It should be a fairly quick stitch so will hopefully have something to show soon.

Happy stitching and thanks for visiting.

A Little Finish

I've had a hectic weekend (I know it's Wednesday but it's taken until now to catch up with life). We had friends to stay and us six girls did the Race for Life in Bristol in memory of the Mum of two of them - God bless you Auntie Jenny. We only walked as only one of us was in any condition to even attempt to run it, but we kept up the pace and completed the 5k in 55mins. We were quite literely the last ones to start and overtook quite a lot on the way round so we feel quite pleased with ourselves anyway. The rest of the weekend was taken up with plenty of drinking and eating, so any benefit of walking that far was soon cancelled out.

Anyway, back to stitchy things. I finished this little pillow yesterday. It was ment to be a quick stitch but due to other things getting in the way has taken me about 5 weeks!

I'm still working away on Fruit Smoothie - it really shouldn't be too long now for a finish on that as well.

Juggy Bug

I've had a stitching session this morning and I've managed to catch up on the Juggy Bug designs, so May is now complete as well. I'm looking forward to June now.

Fruit Smoothie Update

I'm back on the fruit smoothie now. I've done a little of it over the last couple of nights so here is an update pic.

I'm going to try to get the May Juggy Bug done today. Not much else to report today. Happy stitching and thank you for visiting.

General Update

I've done a little bit of work on both the Boquet for Cheryl and Fruit Smoothie. I'll be working on Fruit Smoothie tonight as well so will post an update tomorrow.

In the meantime, I had to go to hobby craft to get some paint for youngest DD, so was able to get the threads I need for the May Juggy Bug square. Hopefully I'll get that stitched tomorrow.

First Piece of Hardanger

I've actually finished my first ever piece of Hardanger. It is a bookmark and, on the whole, I'm fairly pleased with it. The cutting out isn't too tidy and I seem to have managed to cut the stitching thread in a couple of places. Also, you can still see the cut threads against the kloster blocks. If anybody know anything about hardanger and has any tips for the future, please let me know. I'd definately like to give it another go.

I presented my Dad with the finished map yesterday and I'm pleased to say he really loved it. He knew all the places on it and started telling tales of boating holidays - all a good sign.

Happy Dance

I've finished the map - just in time Dad is home later today!

Here it is
And here it is in its frame

It's a bit of a tight fit but I think it's ok. If I'd gone up a frame size there wouldn't have been enough fabric to fit the frame top and bottom. I didn't want to go to the expense of a made to measure frame for this so it will have to do.

So what to do next? - or rather what to finish next, I've still got plenty on the go. Maybe it's back to fruit smoothie, or make progress with the boquet for Cheryl now that it is definately lighter, or finish that hardanger or .......

I'll let you know.

Thank you all who visit my blog, I'm flattered that your interested and I really appreciate your comments. If you've not left one before, please feel free to do so. Thank you. Happy stitching.

April Juggy Bug

I've finished the April Juggy Bug square. These are such lovely quick stitches, I'm really enjoying them. Have to get the threads needed for the May square and then I can do that one.

Going to make some more progress on the map now. It's so nearly there. Just hope Dad's going to like it!

Good News

I ordered the two threads that I had run out of on Monday and then last night got an e-mail asking me to verify my e-mail before it was sent on to the company. So I did and then worried that it was now the end of Tuesday and the earliest I would get the threads would be Thursday making it all very close to my revised deadline.

However, great news, the threads arrived this morning! I never expected them any earlier due to the bank holiday so that is wonderful. I'm realy pleased with the response of the company. Only draw back is that they sent a copy of their catalogue out with it - Ooooh the temptation. lol.

Anyway, for a change I did some stitching on the Juggy Bug April square last night. Almost finished it but not quite. I will post a pic when it's all done.

Progressing

Well I'm definitely making progress. I've one little picture to finish (needs the missing threads) and two more to do and a couple of place names and then it's done. I just hope that the threads don't take too long to get here.

Arggggh!

I can't believe it - I've run out of two colours for my Four Counties Ring map. And not just by a little bit, I still need quite a bit of each one. It's happened to me in the past with kits but that's always been because I've made a mistake and had to unpick a huge amount causing me to waste thread and hence run out. But this time I've made no mistakes, this kit was just short. I've e-mailed the maker and asked them to send me some more, it just always happens when you're up against a deadline.

Whoops!

Well needless to say the map didn't make completion for Friday. I do feel a bit guilty. I did loose momentum a bit on it and if I hadn't I could probably have done it. Anyway, it is getting close now, although I have had to ask for more of one colour of thread as there is no way it's going to be enough. I just hope it doesn't take too long to get here.

What's not easy to see in this pic is all the french knots that have been added to each little picture to be flowers. I don't like doing french knots but I've got a lot better at them now lol!

Oh yes - the May Juggy Bug design is available. Another one to add to my to do list! At least it looks like a quick stitch so I should be able to catch up on those pretty quickly.
